I need to get butcher paper for this project I'm working on, but everywhere i called they only have it sold by the rollDoes anyone know where I can buy it locally by the yard/ foot? I live in Fremont, California.
glue will meltget a piece of board type fiberglass insulation and tape over it.
I'd use something 100% non-flammable like tin-foil.
If you are able to remove the vent then remove it and cut a piece of heavy cardboard with foil to fit the opening and replace the vent cover.
Can you take the vent off the wall? Put cardboard or tin foil behind itDuct tape around a heat vent would be okay, but the heat will make it soft and the glue will end up stuck on there, eventually dry up, and be hard to removeNo, you don't have to worry about a fireHeat vents don't produce enough heat to set fire to thingsOr try oiling and cleaning the vent lever so it can move, or buying a new vent that works properly.
You want the white slick stuff? If 12-18 wide, you should be able to buy it in most grocery stores with the aluminum foil as freezer wrap If you want it wider, go to the butcher shop in the grocery store and ask politely if you can get a couple of yards of the paperMost places will pull off 6 feet or more and roll it up and hand it to you If you mean the brown paper, go to package mailing places in office supply and free standing (Mailboxes, Etc.) and they will usually have a 3' wide roll on a huge tear off dispenser and will give or sell you yardsThis is sold in narrower rolls in packaging/shipping supplies in office stores.
