I‘m looking for one of those pager systems that alert you when your car alarm has gone off. You can‘t always hear your car alarm indoors, but the pager would let you know it was YOUR car alarm going off.What name brands are avail? And what kinds of stores would sell them?I‘m looking to get it for my father-in-law as a birthday gift, is this something that would need to be installed? I don‘t know the make/model of his current car.

You can definitely find it at any custom car audio shop. My b/f almost got one for 200 bucks, not sure on brands though.
The best is Clifford do not buy anything else you will regret it. You can get it at most car alarm shops or at rim shops.
I would say any place that sells car stereos. They usually have alarms as well. I would imagine that you could find a pager system as well. Don't know if they work with a factory alarm or not though.
