Question:

Where can i find iron ore in minecraft?

Me and my cousin made a survival world and we‘ve been through like a week and a half game days and we‘ve made super deep mines but we cant find iron ore just the occasional coal cluster. Any suggestions on where to look.

Answer:

My usual strategy is to dig a deep tunnel, then move it forward just before hitting bedrock. While digging, I usually stumble upon large caverns. These places are loaded with resources- especially coal and iron. Also: any above-ground patches of stone (you'll know when you see one) are great spots. Also as well: if you find a ravine, don't be afraid to search the upper AND lower levels of these formations. Good luck!
Iron ore is found a bit above sea level to a bit higher than bedrock. Since there are so much its easier to just find a naturally spawned cave and look there.
ore is common in caves, rare in surfaces, and plenty in the deep caves, usually it is found pretty much everytime you try to find coal MY STRATEGY: first thing i do when i start minecraft is get some wood(obviously) and then upgrade my equipment to stone, then find the nearest food source, and gather as much as i can(usually i have like 20 chickens, meat, etc) and then i dig underground in a stair shape(to avoid falling on lava) hopefully i find some deepcave(to find redstone, emerald, diamonds thats a rare one, and plenty and plenty of iron, hell i remember one time when i made 2 iron golems just from digging underground!)after i find what i can take, i go back to the surface(hopefully i found some redstone) and make a compass and build a home! and doing the usual stuff after that
