Question:

Where does the ground wire go?

100amp overhead service pole for mobile home. Arkansas. Service from utility company comes into meter box, then through a pole-mounted box with a 100 amp breaker, then 4 wire service to the breaker box in the mobile home. Where does the bare copper ground wire go? One end to the 8‘ in-ground electrode. Does the other end go the ground bar in the 100 amp breaker box/disconnect on the pole, or to the ground lug in the meter box? Thanks

Answer:

If you ever take XTX's advice you will definitely get some poor answers. The preferred place for the grounding electrode conductor is in the meter socket, There should be a small lug mounted beside the neutral connection for it. You can also put it on the neutral bar at the main breaker, however the preferred place is at the meter socket as previously stated. Be aware that the meter socket may be energized!
WOAH STOP PUT ON THE BRAKES with respect to you I will ask that you wait and ASK the electric company man to assist you or at least give you the advice that you need to ne that is necessary to do the right make the correct connections --- you will have 220volts going into the home and if you make a mistake or cross wire you will have problems learning how to wire a home is not open to any incorrect wires or connections . and sometimes on this forum you get the answer that is close but it is not the right job ASK the dude for help --- if you do it right and have a coke-a-cola in the ice box you will get the needed help go for it !!!!
