Question:

Where should I look to check wiring harness if a fuse keeps burning out?

I have a Chevrolet silverado z71 it's a 2006 I have a problem with a fuse burning out everytime I change it . It controls the power heated seats the passenger windows . I know what fuse it is I just need some pointers on ways i can try to fix this problem

Answer:

see if your fuse is large enough to handle the heated seats. cuz i was trying to wire some lights, and i needed a total of 20v to let it run, when i put 15 it burnt out. so i replaced it.
The device you turned on(window, heat, etc) and that blows the fuse, that's the device needs to be replaced.
Does the fuse blow as soon as you replace it or as soon as you turn on the ignition switch? If it's as soon as you replace it, I think I would be looking at the power seat circuit. Check the wiring harness near where the power seat controls are. See if you can disconnect the harness going to the controls, then try replacing the fuse again. If the fuse blows when the switch is turned on look at the power window, particularly in the area of the door hinge. The maybe a connector under the dash near the door. Hope this helps a little.
