Question:

Which bowls are suitable for microwave cooking?

Ok.I'm a 17 year old guy so I should know thisI don't.My parents have left for a week and they've left me supplies for cooking for myselfI know that I need to put pasta in a bowl, cover it with foil, and then pierce the foil several times (looking forward to that)But I'm scared some of my bowls will not be suitable for microwave use?I already feel humiliated enough as it is that I have to ask.

Answer:

Oven proof glass bowl and NO ALUMINUM FOIL!!!!! No metal of any kindNo metal partsTake the spoon out of the bowl before you microwaveDo not microwave in plastic, no matter what the bowl saysMicrowaved plastic melts, even the microwave-proof kind, if it gets too hotYou can put a plate over your bowl if you need a lid (not a plastic one, though)Or just lay a paper towel over your food to keep it from spattering You might experiment with cooking your food according to the package directions, on the stove or in the regular ovenNo time like the present to learn to cook for real.
