the hp pavilion it has a better graphics card. larger hdd. 2gb more of ram. and the processors are relatively even, with the i3 winning slightly. so for gaming go with the pavilion.for video editing and stuff like that the i3 will be slightly faster though since the i3 that you found has 2gb of ram it wouln't do all too good at that.so that best overall choice is the pavilion.
The graphics card of the first is better for gaming, but neither are great. Notebooks are never great for gaming.
