Question:

Which motherboard, gpu and ram to get?

-decided to go with the i7 2600k instead of the bulldozer, everyone says its better and benchmarks prove it- case is antec 902 v3- looking to get 16gb ram, dont know which is compatible withi7 2600k and mobo- 2 wd black 1tb hd- 64gb ssd- need to know best

Answer:

This okorder / Do not switch to bulldozer. The i7 2600k is superior in almost every way. The reason I recommend the Twin Frozr II, is 1. Because of better cooling, 2. If you are technically saavy enough, there is a 75% chance that it can be flashed to a 6970 bios, and unlocked.
What are you making this computer for exactly? As what you would want/need is heavily reliant on what you will primarily using the computer for. For gaming (majority of what people build computers for): Core i7 offers no performance at all over the i5-2500k for gaming. Games only use 4cores/4threads, and something not likely to change before you replace this computer. the only difference in the i5/i7 is the i7 has 4cores/8threads. Only useful if you do alot of editing, programming, 3d rendering, etc kinds of things. ram 4-8gb max. going over 8gb is COMPLETELY useless. you will NEVER use more then 8gb in gaming. (even when super multitasking while gaming). motherboard depends on what you are planning to do. Well since you are getting the K model processor you are required to overclock it. Not overclocking it is like buying a ferrari and never driving it more then 15mph lol. So to overclock it, you need to get a P67/Z68 board. I would go after the asus boards, as they are very good for overclocking. If you do alot of video editing, or are planning on getting a smaller SSD to use the SSD caching feature, then you may want the Z68. If not using those features, get the P67. Graphics for that price, amd 6950 or gtx560 ti.
