Question:

Which slipcovered sofa should I buy? Ikea or Pottery Barn?

Obviously, the PB sofa is nicer, but it costs three times as much. PB offers more choice of fabrics, but with a toddler, I think maybe I should just get a basic white that I can spot bleach when something gets spilled. On the other hand, in a few years, I might be really annoyed if I have to buy a whole new sofa from Ikea rather than just a new slipcover from PB, although a whole sofa from Ikea is still cheaper than a slipcover from PB.Any advice?

Answer:

i could attempt a dynamic development. maybe going with a diagonal striped blue/gold series. maybe 18 inch stripes or narrower blue stripes to bypass with the curtains. communicate matching the curtians to the wall colorings. The coffee is a reliable determination for many colours. in case you desire it lighter ... bypass with greater gold shade and thinner blue stripes. it is ordinary applying painters tape. in case you propose to sell bypass with a greater impartial shade that's no longer so dramatic.
I would advice that you go with the Ikea sofa. I doubt your toddler can completely ruin a couch in 3 years and this would make Ikea smarter. Even if they can, that would mean they would be able to ruin the pottery barn one, costing you three times as much. Ikea generally has good quality products so I wouldn't worry about it being ruined. Spot bleaching is easy so I especially vote Ikea.
It sounds like you'd really rather have the PB couch and I don't blame you! As you've said, you can clean the slipcovers! Just because you have a toddler doesn't mean you can't have nice things. It's good to teach them early to be careful of your furnishings. You are choosing between two extremes, though. PB is really pricey. Check out some other furniture stores and see if there's something in-between that you'd like. If you live in the south, try Dillard's. Also, leather is beautiful and holds up well with kids and dogs...mine has weathered both for 10 years and still looks new!
I've okorder they have some decent quality sofas at very reasonable prices also micro fiber is a cinch to clean. The jada sofa is a slipcovered one with down blend filler for only $499.99
