Question:

Which will melt first under the same amperage, copper or stainless steel?

Like imagine there are two metal bars, connected end to end, one made of copper one of stainless steel, with a voltage of 12volts and a potential amperage of say 12000 amps. Which would melt first (I assume one will)

Answer:

melting point 1530°C ; ρ 97*10^-3 ohm*mm^2/m melting point 1080°C ; ρ 17*10^-3 ohm*mm^2/m considering the same cross section area, then the stainless steel will melt well ahead
