Question:

Why are my cookies burnt on the bottom but raw on the center?

I used this cookie recipe for a long time and I made it with oil not butter and I used baking powder and it worked really well in the past I'm using an aluminum baking sheet with aluminum foil on top to prevent sticking cuz I don't have parchment paper available and it worked really well for me but then suddenly my cookies turned out burnt on the bottom but raw on the center and this happened when I experimented with different doughs and now even my dough that worked well for me now has the same problem and I don't know what's wrong with it

Answer:

Cooking temp is too high You're going to want to check your oven to make sure that the temp you set it for is the temp you're cooking atMine is 50 degrees highThat means that when I'm setting for 325, I'm actually cooking at 375I have to adjust down If your temp is spot on, then the recipe might be wrongSet for 50 degrees cooler than the recipe calls for and check it at the normal timeOdds are it'll still be wrong but you can check it and give it another 5 minutes and check againRepeat until done.
