Question:

Why are our smoke detectors going off?

My sister and I were sitting in our room today and all of a sudden our smoke detectors/alarms starting going off. They chirp like there's a fire but there's not. It's also a CO detector but we already had our CO levels checked and everything. No explanation. HELLPPPP. (:

Answer:

the rider was not wearing a helmet implies contribution to harm in exactly the same way that reporting the rape victim was wearing a short skirt and no bra does. (Found this on a motorcycle message board.) Ben R. was not at fault. Whoever turned left in front of him is. Why no dicussion about improving cagers' driving skills?
I felt really bad for Ben, being that I live in Pgh, and am a big Steelers fan, but I think he was a little stupid not to protect that beautiful face! I have told everyone that I've seen (like my neighbor) to put it on!!! Why take the chance?
Nope. Although I do appreciate the irony that a man that wears a helmet to protect himself from linebackers running at less than 10mph doesn't wear one to protect himself from a fall at 40+mph. That's just rich.
Only a complete IDIOT would ride without a helmet. I've been riding for over 15 years. About three years ago I had serious accident at about 30 MPH. A Chevy Suburban pulled out infront of me with no warning. I hit the rear drivers door. My helmet left a very distinct impression in the door. Better that than my head. My 6 month old ZX7 was totaled! Always wear ALL safety equipment. I ride with a leather jacket, kevlar reinforced jeans, kevlar reinforced gloves, high boots, a helmet, and I always make sure that when riding at night, I have 3M reflective materials on. It only makes sense. If you live longer, you ride longer.
First, PVC is not a good thing to be anywhere around heat or smoke of any nature. Second, the various solvent-cements used for PVC are nasty in their own right and again should be nowhere anywhere near or around heat or smoke. The basic material will outgas, react with other products-of-combustion to form harmful compounds and generally be a bad idea to get anywhere near your lungs not even to mention what you might be smoking. Don't make yourself an early Darwin Awards candidate. Find another more suitable material. No matter how you slice it and dice it - PVC is not, nor can it be made to be a suitable material for your intended purpose. So, however you wish to 'intepret' the facts, that will not change. I suspect that you will simply keep asking until you get the answer you want to read - after which you will become a byline on the back pages of some newspaper somewhere, or much worse a permanent burden on society.
