I would like to know more about sectional sofas.
Because they are modern, Comfy, Dont take up as much parts of the house as a sofa with love seat, or chair. Personally i love the L shaped couches.
There are many reasons why sectional sofas are so popular. For instance, the sectional sofas are very creative. You can use your imagination and locate them in any place. Then, you can add or subtract pieces as you need them. The sectional sofa can fit in any place. You can find them in different shapes and this make your decoration kind of unique.
They DO maximize seating space, but they're not for everyone nor every room. PLUS the single biggest problem is usally getting the corner pieces through a door. Thankfully now there are sectional designs with a corner built in to the length of one piece, which has made this problem easier. Also, a fitment issued can be resolved by getting reclining styles where the backs can be removed. Not everyone likes to be seated in such close proximity to one another...some people prefer their own space by having a chair to sit in, so I usually recommend at least one single chair in a room for these types of guests. Older relatives usually prefer a sturdy chair, for instance, so that they have 2 arms to help them out of the seat. Not all of them can be broken apart rearranged - it depends on how the pieces connect. Plus, just cause it CAN be broken up doesn't mean it SHOULD be broken up - it depends on how the room is best laid out with balance scale taken into consideration, which are the fundamentals to good design. Another issue is gauging whether the particular configuration you have in your current space will work in a space where you may move to - most sectionals will not fit from place to place, whereas I've found that a normal scale sofa, pair of matching chairs, an accent chair will fit in almost anywhere you go is always easier to create balance in a room. I know this not only from design experience, but from personal experience, as I have moved a couple dozen times in my career. Think carefully before you purchase one, cause in my experience in furniture retail design, most people keep them for only a couple of years end up going back to a sofa chair arrangement.
I just bought one from Bobs. Waiting for it and can't wait for it to come. They are so popular because they have so much seating room. If you have friends over, or parties often, they seat a lot of people very comfortably. Plus they look great in a room.
They're very retro....used to be popular mid-century. Now have more of a plush design and I suppose they're popular because they create their own conversation area with itself. Many now come with reclining chairs...table between them. You better have a room large enough to accommodate one. Splitting up the pieces doesn't make it look as attractive....and if you don't get a REALLY well-made one, over time, those seats sink in and they're hard to get out of. Also, mechanisms can break that help them to recline. The other option is to get a good sofa and 2 conversation chairs. Some people opt for a matching loveseat and add a chair ottoman. Depends on what you like, what looks good in the room, what you can afford.
