Question:

Why do Kosher symbols appear even on non-edible products?

I have found that on most kitchen products, even dishwashing soap, aluminum foil, freezer bags, saran wrap, etc.have kosher symbols (like a circled U, or circled COR 267) on the packagingI know these symbols represent that the product is kosher, but why on things that people don't eat? This makes no apparent sense!
