Question:

why do things give off light?

why do things give off light and what are the different types of light given off?

Answer:

Things give off light for several different reasons. If u are a burning star or other celestial object u will give off these different waves of light. Infared radiation is heat. Ultraviolet radiation is the intense damaging waves that give u a tan and wrinkle the skin. Microwaves heat stuff up. X rays are the intense rays that pass through soft tissue but not dense tissue. Gamma rays pass through anything and are very dangerous. There is also visible light....the light of the spectrum. Like a rainbow. There is also flouesent light...thats a light bulb, and reflective light. Thats like the moon when the sun shines on it and makes it shine. There is also flouresence....like when an object glows in the dark. Some animals have this kind of light. Like a lightning bug. Also electricity is light....a lightning storm. Hope this helps:)
Electrons elect to be in the backside skill state conceivable. So we call the floor state the ingredient whilst electrons are generally frivolously orbiting the nucleus of the atom. whilst extra suitable skill hits the atom, that's absorbed by ability of the electrons. they are then able to leap as much as larger orbits, yet will quickly emit that skill as a photon. by fact of quantum mechanics, and a great purchase of confusing math that takes years to understand, the electrons can basically bounce especially quantum leaps of skill, and the photon is in a particular wavelength. this provides us the spectral colorings, which scientists use to verify what atoms are in an unknown substance. Bit long-winded, however the technology math at the back of all it particularly is complicated.
