And why is it that once you've run out of bags, you can never find the ones for your vacuum at the store?(Anyone who uses the word suck in their answer will not get 10 points.)
if you want a vacuum that lasts a while- go to Sears. the bags are also located in sears for all the different vacuums. hope this helps.
I have a vacuum than is at least 25 years old, it still works and you can get the bags and any grocery store. So I don't know if you have just had bad luck or you buy cheap vacuums.
I had a lot of trouble with vacuums to. I have purchased a Kirby vacuum last year and it works great. Yes they are expensive but it have a great warranty on it so if it breaks I bring it in to get fixed and they even let me borrow one of there's until they are finished with the repair. They never discontinue the bags either.
It depends on the brand, age, and maintenance you provide your vaccum with. They need to be regular serviced. You can do this yourself. Of course, never vac foreign objects, look around on floor each time before hand and pick these items up. Don't run your vac for too long of periods of time. This will cause the motor to overheat and sometimes will kill the vac. Keep the beater bar clean regularly by unplugging tthe vac first, flip it over, remove the screws on the bottom and pull the cover off. Pull the beater bar (rotating bar) out and use a razor or sharp knife to slice down the center of the bar and then pull out all hair and fibers. While it is apart, check the extra compartment (most new vacs have) that traps foreign objects to keep it away from the motor. Clean it out if needed. Replace the belt if needed, change the bag, and put it all back together. This is servicing your vaccum. Do this regularly, like every two or three bag changes and your vac should last longer. Try checking more stores to find your bags and if you still have no success then try online. Maybe for your next vac purchase, you may want to look into purchasing a bagless canister vac with filter. They are affordable and easier and in my opinion more efficient and sanitary. Good luck!
It is part of the disposable plan in our shaky economy. Nothing is made to last. I have given up on regular vacuum cleaners because the belts constantly break and, of course, your problem...noone carried the bags. Also, if you have a vacuum with a filter, they dont carry the filter either. I have gone 100% to a shop vac. These devils almost never cave in and it appears that you can always get the parts. They vacuum better too.
