My 1yr old cat occasionally urinates outside of the litter tray, but has not done so in about 2 months. I had a new sofa delivered this week and came home to find she had peed on it. After I cleaned it she peed on the opposite side. Why does she have to pee in the most annoying places?
My cat just did the same thing. She never eliminates outside the litter box. Two weeks ago I got a new rug and new sofa. She pooped on the rug and peed on the sofa right where I have taken to sitting. She had been scratching the arms of the sofa, but I had covered them with clear tape. Clearly, this was her way of establishing ownership of my new furniture. I have no idea how the others who answered this question failed to notice that you mentioned that your cat is already litter trained. This is not a litter training issue but a marking/territory issue.
Get your cat fixed that might help-- do you have other cats? If so its just trying to mark its territory.
cats dont kno were to pee u kno wat ur suppose to do to potty train her every time she pees somewhere take her to her pee dont hit her just make her look at it then take her to her in her litter box and scratch her foot it sounds silly but it works just do this a few times and shell be potty trained my friend i a cat trainer and thats how she told me to train my cats and it actually works
she could be having some territorial issues. try having her fixed, i know spraying not common for female cats but my cat use to spray everywhere, my house smelled disgusting. if that doesn't work though, try following throughout the house, every time it looks like she's about to pee spray her with water, eventually she will learn. is there anything irregular in those two months? your cat could just be freaked out. like if you have family coming down or something.
your cat could have a bladder infection. they are dangerous if not taken care of and the animal could die.
