in Sumter South Carolina all there is are ghetto people and their gay rap music. Then the white people are all rednecks and listen to hillbilly country $hit. My friends Ipods have the likes of Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Gucci Man, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry. When I ask my friend's, Do you have any Five Finger Death Punch or Avenged Sevenfold. they are like who is that. facepalm.
The metal scene in LA is big and diverse. - A little black metal. Majority is thrash and heavy metal. - I'm Asian. - Huntington Beach California. Very near LA. - I guess for the1st and no for the 2nd. Theres plenty of metal fans out there.
Well I'll just say I live in the tri-county area of Virginia. My county's only high school only has about 1,000 kids over 3 grades, so compared to other schools in surrounding towns, pretty small. So the diversity isn't very big. I'd say 90% listen to the mainstream hip hop stuff, most of the skaterish people listen to modern post-hardcore or whatever you call it like ADTR and Asking Alexandria, (same with the small group of scene kids and the remaining people.) I only know of one other person who really listens to the metal like I do, but we keep it to ourselves. To answer the BQs, im white and most metalheads in our schools like metalcore/deathcore.
The Black Metal from LA has to be terrible. But real metal not Metalcore or Deathcore still has many listeners. I listen to Nile, Cannibal Corpse, and a lot of Black Metal. True metal will never die.
