In storage devices like magnetic tapes,floppy disksetc why we are using ferromagnetic materials not the dia or para magnetic materials please help me
Many ferrous material have a residual flux, after an external magnetic field is applied. The polarity of it depends on what the direction of the magnetic was. The polarity of the residual flux can be detected, and this serves as a memory.
