Why is iron not found as a metal in nature?
it is no use as iron oxide you cannot build building with iron oxide - you need steel .
The pure iron or Fe is highly reactive with oxygen and other elements found in nature so it cannot stay in its original form as a metal as you think, it makes various compounds which in time mix with other materials impurities. the compounds from which iron is easily extracted are generally called their ore.
