You also seem to be blaming the apartment complex for your trouble after you already indicated that you had gone over 5~6 other speed bumps in the same area.you knew they were there. Fast is relative when driving over a speed bump with an S-60. 2mph is too fast for some speed bumpsjust the way they are built. YOU did the damage; not the complex. Honestly, $900 is quite cheap for the damage you described. A new down pipe alone goes for about $600. Catalytic converter is another $300, so I guess you are getting free labor. Incidentally, you are very lucky you didn't smash the oil pan. It is right up front and very vulnerable. If you had smashed that, you would be walking now.
Dead bolts are only good on doores. A nice strong Hasp Master padlock are good for lockers.
