It is model 116. and is about 6 years old. The motor itself works, but will not turn on with the switch. Any ideas? What typically goes on these?Thanks.
Do you need to push a reset button that stopped the beater brush when it got clogged with something (like a sock)? { i e how do you know the motor works if the switch does not turn it (what it?) on. - Hence my idea.)
Most vacuum cleaners develop a wire break near the plug from constantly being pulled and so strained at that point. Try cutting six inches from the plug side and rewiring the plug; forget if you can do that in the USA, was there for 5 years many years ago but live in the UK now. That said I didn't have a wire tester when I tried that solution and it worked. You of course could rule this out with a wire tester. (power getting to switch?)
