I also have a choice of sofa colors in taupe, cream.pewter. or midnight blue. I'm not very good at matching colors and don't know what would look best, Any help would be appreciated.
with seafoam, i would go with either dark chocolate browm, or a light and airy white or beige. seafoam is a pastel, so stick with other pastels and dark browns/greys. taupe might work depending on the context, but definitly stay away from midnight blue. cream might be not pop enough in contrast to sea foam, i would stick with whiter whites.
Go with what you like best. Chocolate brown is an excellent choice. I would then find a way to incorporate the chocolate brown in the curtains; as well as finding ways to incorporate the chocolate in the wall hangings as well. (for example-pictures matted and hung in a chocolate frame/sepia picuters) Most of all go with what connects with you or you'll find that it can be difficult to live with something you thought you should rather than the one you really liked. Hope this helps:)
Actually any of those colors should go well with the seafoam. Seafoam is one of those colors that is getting close to neutral in that is it comprised of cool blue with warm yellow....turquoise is probably the best example.....that color can go both ways warm colors and cool colors. If you will be eating on the sofa, I'd avoid the taupe or cream..nothing like pizza sauce to clean up.
Cream sofa would call for chocolate accessorization, I think this would just bring it down be very pedestrian. You could also do navy or peach for accents with the cream sofa if you want an overall lighter look. So...after all this analyzation, I vote for the midnight blue...I think it would be easier to complete the picture with the midnight for someone who has difficulty with color. I hope I gave you some guidance for the project.
the tins and chart usually tell you what to match or accent them with. I'd be inclined to suggest a beige carpet with a brown fleck but then you might make your room look like a chocolate sundae if you have too many cream/brown combinations. I have exactly the same colours in my room but went for textured laminate (reduces risk of slipping) with a large thick rug to soften it for the baby to play on.
