It won't turn you green, but it might leave black marks on your skin if it's worn for a long timeIf you make pins, brooches, or pendants, it'll work fine.
I work for a metal recycling company, I get phone calls all the time asking this questionI have no idea where, how, or why this got started, but to us, its a waste of your time to pull them offNot to mention a pain in the butt getting them out of a milk jug or those water dispenser jugs! HAHA We only buy the metal, not the plastic its in :-) Leave them on.
I dont know if this is true but I guess you would drop it off at the recycling place
You can donate them to the Ronald MacDonald house, they recycle them to pay for their helping sick children.
