Since BullDozer is coming out very soon (july/august) I wanted to know if there will be any support for the G34 socket, since i want to get a dual G34 socket motherboard.Thanks!
no. the bulldozer will still use the AM3+ socket. it is not opteron based. but the bulldozer has 4 core, 6 core and 8 core versions. all under AM3+ socket
BullDozer is a new architecture by AMD. As such, it is expected to be offered in both desktop (Socket AM3+) and server (Socket C32/G34) varieties with various numbers of cores in each cpu. Until AMD officially releases the product, all we have to go by is rumors and leaks.
