I already have an aftermarket radio in my car(dual) 06 chevy cobalt lt and I wanna change to another brand (JVC) and lets say that the wiring harness used with my current radio fits perfectly into the JVC radio(the wiring harness connection looks the same on both radios) then the JVC radio should work right?? This is what I am thinking!!
Don't worry there are standard connectors are worst case scenario you will find adapter that fits your cars its really common and easy to find the adapter won't cost more than 5$ so don't worry get whatever receiver you want it will work
if you already have an aftermarket wiring harness you can use it.
The wiring harness its the fit for ur vehicle so u don't have to change it. If u mean the harness that goes into the actual radio then when u buy the new radio it will come with the wires that plug into it. You just have to run them into the harness u already have that runs into ur factory harness. You dont have to change the aftermarket to factory harness everytime u buy a radio. It will be the same.
I can tell you already that the Dual plug won't fit the JVC; but let's say it does. For example, if you had a Sony deck in there now, there's a good chance it would fit the JVC. It wouldn't work quite right, though, because Sony uses a different speaker pin position in the plug than JVC. So you're best off re-wiring it with the new plug.
