Question:

Will ants be harmfull to my dwarf lime tree?

The limes are strating to grow but I noticed ants climbing up on it. Will they harm/seat the limes?

Answer:

as long as it's just lime, no. Most lime is calcuim carbonate.. the same stuff that Tums are made from. there is a dolomitic lime available in some areas and I think.. it has trace amounts of magnesium in it.. still.. not harmful.. don't eat it, but.. it shouldn't hurt you. did a quick search.. it is magnesium. Here's a link to the lime association's FAQ board, where I found out.

no its not harmful unless you have plants that thrive in acidic soil, then their not going to grow well. its a naturally occuring nutrient. and its not fertilizer. as i said, it stabilized the soils Ph and helps to break down salts in your soil, so that the fertilizer you do apply will work mor efficient.
