Question:

Will AT&T get T-Mobile phones?

If the deal goes through and ATT acquires T-Mobile USA, will ATT customers have access to T-Mobile phones (HTC HD7, G2) and T-Mobile customers have access to ATT phones (iPhone, HTC Inspire)?I'm a current ATT customer with the iPhone 4, but I want a nice Android or WebOS smartphone.

Answer:

It will be a couple years (at least) before the merger (if approved) gets to that point. And by that time, the current phones will no longer be sold, and there will be new models. What's nice about the merger is that they are both very similar technologies. I haven't done it myself, but I've heard several stories of iPhone users using their phone with T-Mobile. So I'm sure it will work the other way also. And once the merger is complete, you will no longer have two separate companies, and it all will be one big, happy ATT, and any new phones that come out between now and then will be contracted with this in mind.
they will endorse phones specifically for the provider you should have more choice
