I just purchased a 2004 honda civic hybrid that had set for 4-6 months. It needed a transmission. I got a transmission for it and got it going but now it sets p1433 battery deterioration. Ive only driven it once for about 3 miles. If i continue to drive it will it recharge itself? Just curious if its just low because of it setting for so long.
Maybe. The Honda IMA batteries are not the most dependable things, and changes Honda made to the battery usage profiles to improve battery life made the fuel economy drop so much there was a class action suit against Honda that was only recently settled. I am not surprised the battery system is out of whack after sitting that long, though. Within a week or two you will know whether it is serious about it or not.
idk buddy it would make sense that it wud since the alternator recharges the battery in the engine it may be set up so that it also recharges the p1433 too. i personally dont think the hybrids are better because u need parts that are rare if they go bad
