I‘m painting a full face helmet but I had to cover the holes in order to protect the foam from the paint vapors. I used Bondo to patch the holes but ended up with a relatively lumpy and rough(ish) surface on the top of the helmet‘s shell, even after alot of sanding with 120 and 60 grit sandpaper it‘s still not consistent and I fear if I paint it now it will end up like crap.1.) If I place fiberglass will it smoothen the surface out? 2.) Are there different kinds of thickness for fiberglass? 3.) Will they bond well since they are both made of polyester?4.) And do I have to fiberglass all parts to make it consistent (even the non-bondoed parts?)Thanks.
