First of all, try not to be bias ;). My birthday is on December 19th, exactly the release date of the Transformer Prime, which is a great tablet, one I think surpasses even the iPad 2. With Steve Jobs gone and the new quad core installed in the Prime, would the iPad 3 be likely to be better than the Prime? Should I just wait for an iPad 3 if so? Thanks :)!
I think you mean the iPad 2 HD. The rumour is that it will just be a refresh first, then iPad 3 at the end of next year. But who knows iPhone 5 got released, right? ;)
i just want to tell you this first. Specs aren't everything. The Transformer Prime's quad-core may sound dreamy and amazing, but its worthless without good software. Sure, it'll make your homescreen much faster, but without good software to utilize it, the four cores are worthless. In some aspects, actually, the iPad 2 already beats the Transformer Prime. This is because the iPad's OS is tailored specifically for the iPad, and all the iPad apps are tailored specifically for the iPad and its OS. Not only does this allow people the most possible out of the iPad, it provides a great experience. Doubting that the Transformer Prime beats the iPad 2 in other specs would be stupid. For $500 it has more ram, more storage, and many other features. But like a said before, while the iPad has much less ram, the OS makes the most out of it. And so, i definitely think that the best choice would be too wait and see. If the iPad 3 comes around, and you like it, go for it. But if it isn't for you, then i suggest you get the Transformer Prime. Might be cheaper then as well!
First of all, don't forget that the iPad 3 hasn't been announced and it will probably be a few months, at least, before it comes out. Secondly, there are sure to be spec improvements and additional features in the iPad 3. Whether they match up to the Transformer Prime, however, is anybody's guess. Third, I think the real decision should come down to if you want the Apple environment or the Google environment. Last I checked there are more iOS apps than Android apps, and if you have a Mac, iCloud is a nice thing to keep everything in sync across devices. I personally like iOS, its interface, and the way updates are delivered (as opposed to with an Android device, updates Google produces may not coincide with a new product release or may not be available right away for your device). On the other hand Android is more open, the integration with Google Calendar and all is great, there are less restrictions on what apps are allowed in the Android store, and if you are happy with Android then there's no real reason to wait for the iPad 3.
