Question:

Wire Transfer?

How can u do a wire transfer? Is there anything extra that is needed to do this? Are you able to make a wire transfer from your home computer?

Answer:

A wire transfer is that exact same as sending cash. As soon as it is gone. It is gone. The bank can not protect you. I suggest using a credit card. If they will only accept wire transfer as payment I would be very thorough on my research into the company and know exactly who I was dealing with. I would pay the extra fees via pay-pal where you have some protection. If he is a fraud and you wire money, you are out the money unless you hire an attorney to help you get it back which will probably cost you more than the 8k. I'd buy local if you can in this instance.
Most people go to the bank and arrange for wire transfer from there. You will need to have the funds to wire, the account where you want it transfered to. it is possible, but it would have to be prearranged.
Start from the financial institution where the money will be transferring out. You will need to sign some paper to authorize the transfer. If the transfer isn't urgent, you make also check to see if the institution could handle ACH. Money transferred through the clearing house usually takes a couple of days longer, but cheaper and possibly free of charge. Best wishes.
A wire transfer is done thru your bank and unless you have it already set up or a bank officer that you work with, you will have to probably go to the bank and sign off on the wire transfer. Other than that, if you have someone who will work with you at your bank, they may fax the needed paperwork to you and accept a fax back. You will need your banks routing number and your account number. Good Luck!
It depends on your bank. Some banks have over their company's Intranet system a template for you to fill out a wire transfer. However, you must check with your bank because I am sure for security purposes, you will have a lot of paperwork to fill out. But this usually applies to Corporate customers. Personal customers like yourself will have to physically go into your local bank. -The branch where you opened up your account to do the wire transfer. Again, for security reasons, you will have to fill out and sign forms and they need to match your signature to what they have on file at the branch- namely your signature card when you opened up your account. Some banks also require you to fill out a wire transfer agreement just to even do wires. So the answer is no. You cannot do a wire transfer over your computer. Once again, depending on the bank, you might be able to fill out a template that the bank might have on their website. But you cannot effect a wire transfer from your own computer. Make sure you have the wiring instructions from the person you are sending the money to. You will need the bank name (bank address is really not needed so tell your bank that- unless it is a foreign wire), the banks 9 digit ABA/Routing Number. The Beneficiary name, and finally the beneficiary account number.- Plus of course the amount you wish to have wired. Once you provide that info to your bank, they will take care of the rest.
