Question:

Woke up to natural gas smell that went away after a few minutes, but no one else smells it?

We have gas heating, and gas logs. Sometimes the house smells when the logs are used, but it goes away when we turn them off. I woke up at 3 this morning to the smell of gas, and I woke my mom up but she didn't smell anything. The smell went away after I had been up for a few minutes. I recently bought a carbon monoxide detector, but I'm worried that it will not protect against explosive gas. Also, some reviews of CO2 detectors state that they don't work at all. Is my family safe?

Answer:

This is tame compared to 1968 and Emmanuel is a kitten compared to the elder Mayor Daley. Bring out the fire hoses. That will disperse the crowd.

The top story on CNN is that one of the Bee Gees kicked the bucket.
