Please answer because I'm thinking about purchasing at least one of these this week. I have green walls and hardwood floors and I'm going to put a 9x12 rug down.So tell me would it work or is it a no no?
Sorry but no. The contemporary and traditional do not compliment each other but instead fight each other for dominance. It's too confusing to look at. You will have to choose between the styles and I think that is where your problem is. The traditional sofa is nice and makes a bold statement and would also require other bold, curvy rounded and oversized traditional pieces to complete the room. The contemporary ones are also nice (just not my choice) but require more sleek modern pieces to complete the look of straight sleek lines. edit: strawberry thats a good question. you don't have to settle for the same ol boring matching sets just choose pieces that are in a complimentary color and in the same proportion as that sofa. Big and chunky or even a smaller scale would work as long as you still have those nice rounded curves. Tie them together with throws and pillows. For example if you have a brown sofa and a green loveseat, place green cushions on the sofa and brown on the loveseat and always throw in a third splash of color for added interest. Think in the lines of the furniture for accessories.
ya know a leather recliner almost always accents a fabric couch but the opposite i think is a no no
