You could try spray adhesive (available at WalMart, Staples/Business Depot) or fabric glue (also from WalMart or a fabric store) used sparinglyI think embroidery or handsewing would do the best job for you though.
i have an aluminium (yes its spelt differently in Australia) case on my iphoneGenerally the Metalic covers are only a cover on the outsidebut the inner sides that touch the phone are plastic anywaysi dont think there is any scientific way of really testing that level of heat your talking about and if it isit would insignificant to make any difference.if it were that bad and noticeably damaging to your phonethey wont be selling that well at the end of your day, your phone is in your pocket, your bag, your briefcase and your carMetal generally has a hotter tempbut with the above mentioned shouldn't make much of a difference unless you leave it in the sunwhich it doesn't matter if its plastic or metalYou will notice your iphone will have an alert screen without a case/cover if it gets too hot(its happend to me on my other iphone without any case) so i would not worry about it
