Honda will be coming out with a leaseable hydrogen fuel cell car, the Honda FCX, in 2008. This vehicle will get around 550km per tank, or about 350 miles. You will probably have to have a home hydrogen reforming station that takes propane (C3H8) and breaks it apart and uses the hydrogen as fuel for your home and car. If you hate one of the following (oil, Bush, terrorists, Hugo Chavez, Nigerian Mafiaetc), leasing one of these cars would mean you would stop giving money that would eventually find it's way to those people. Is it your civic duty to help defeat terrorists and the oil cartels in the Middle East by cutting down or stopping oil use all together?Would you drive a hydrogen fuel cell car for that reason?
I would drive either an Hydrogen Fuel Car or a Hybrid, or an Electric car because it is the RATIONAL thing to do. This is not to spite any of the folks you mentioned (except possibly George W. (The Shrub) Bush. Rather it is because it is the most logical thing to do ecologically.
can it haul but and tow a few tons ?at least 3-4 easily ?
I'd consider buying one just to get a vanity plate on it that reads: HNDNBG
If the car would blow up upon impact, as Hydrogen is highly combustible, then I would rather not.
