Would you recommend bars stopleak copper to repair a coolant leak?

Answer:

I have a beater truck and I have successfully used K-Seal on it. It stopped my small leak. I have heard that Bar Leaks copper works in a similar manner and is cheaper. The sealer did not clog up the heater core or affect the performance of the engine. In fact, the engine runs better now. A lot of mechanics recommend that you try a sealer before you spend a lot of money on replacing gaskets. BTW, I don't use sealers on my newer vehicles but they don't leak either.
I would rather live in Sweden than in Spain or any hot country! i like the cool summer days! XD
I can't wait either because I'm going on my dream vacation this winter / Christmas.
Coolant passages are very small and components are made of thin walled aluminum. The less clogging the coolant is the better. Once a leak appears it is usually a seep giving you time to Rand R the thing right. When rads and heater cores were made bigger and actually copper based then this stuff (Bars) used to work. No more.
Actually I'd recommend never getting suckered into using any sort of stop leak product. All it will do is plug up the heater core and radiator and cause more trouble than you have right now! Find the leak and repair it properly. It sure the hell won't fix a water pump leak!!!
