Question:

Yahoo won't let me register without a mobile phone?

I want to create a new Yahoo account. After I complete the page with all of my basic info (name, birthday, etc.), it takes me to a page where I can create my security questions and include a mobile phone number. I do not have a mobile phone. When I hit done, a message stating this information is required appears next to the mobile phone box, and I cannot complete registration without it. I have tried linking to an alternate email in the previous step but it still happens. What can I do?

Answer:

This is crazy!! Yahoo we deserve some answers why we can't create a account without a Mobile number? We have a right to our privacy not to be giving our number out also some people don't have a mobile phone so come on now fix this problem!
I don't use a mobile phone at all. This is why I've lost 2-3 accounts because of Yahoo's gimmick to boost mobile phone users and it's unfair to me.
Evidently Yahoo has chosen to decrease their popularity among both mobile phone owners as well as those less fortunate. Yahoo sucks.
Hi Ivory - Inclusion of a mobile phone number is now a required field when registering for a new Yahoo! ID. ?In the event account recovery is needed, this is the safest and most effective method to securely recover your account. ?Yahoo! will alert you through your mobile device when we suspect unusual login activity on your Yahoo! account. If you do not have a mobile number, or cannot provide one, you will be unable to complete registration for a new Yahoo! ID. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
