Question:

94 Honda Accord automatic transmission slipping?

I‘ve had the transmission fluid replaced. But this hasn‘t stopped the gears slipping. The car has 280,000 miles on it. I‘m sure the transmission is going to have to be rebuilt. How much will this cost?

Answer:

Check the transmission fluid level with the engine warm and off. Unlike other makes, Honda engines have to be off to check transmission fluid. If the level is OK, try changing the fluid. It could be getting old OR someone may have put an aftermarket fluid in and that will cause it to slip. Honda's require their own brand of fluid. If that doesn't help, I recommend taking it to the pros for diagnosis and repair.
well first of all where do you live? i have a 1994 honda accord that has 265000 miles on it.i am wanting to sell this car for 600 dollars cuz something is wrong with the motor so if your intrested let me know
Transmission rebuilding can cost from $2000 to $4000. It would be cheaper to call salvage yards and find a used one in a wrecked vehicle.
