Answer:

There are several things that could be the problem. First the smoke detector may also be checking the quality of the air for dangerous fumes. You might want to have the furnace or outside source (if air conditioner) checked. If you leave your windows open you could be getting car smog coming in and giving the false alarm. Low battery may be doing it, but if that is the case, it should be doing it during the daytime too. If you have the windows closed, then there may be fumes coming in from the registers. Look on the Internet for that brand of smoke alarm and model. They may have a guide book on-line to answer your question. If not, they may have an email address you can write to and ask them for a User Guide. Which will very likely have something in it for you.
Phone as a webcam? Most probably not. I would like to joke if it were possible to use that phone as a microwave oven but I've seen a refrigerator with a TV and a cellphone with a coffee maker so I would instead keep my mouth shut.
The only part of the knob that is capable of locking, was already pushed out by you. all there is to do is get your flat screwdriver into the square or half moon shaped hole and turn until it opens. I forgot to mention that this type of interior doorknob lock will open with a small screwdriver inserted into the small hole in the center, well, that is before you disassembled it. most interior locks come with a sardine can opener type of a key that people usually hide above the trim of a door.
