Question:

Attaching PVC pipe to aluminum dowspouts?

I'm hoping to create a diverter for a rain barrel with a 6quot; PVC Y fittingSome of the water would go to the rain barrel, the rest would go to the same spot that it's going nowThe downspouts are 3quot;x4quot; aluminumHow to attach the different sizes materials? Or should the complete downspout be changed to 6quot; PVC? (I have 4quot; gutters on the roof but they fill with a ton of leaves)Thanks.

There's lots of reasons, but here are places to start: fastest growing population in Europe Political stability at a time when post places didn't have it (due in part to being on an island) Available capital from a healthy economy Availability of coal Navigable waterways to move large amounts of resources and product before the invention of the locomotive.
Political stability and international peace following the defeat of Napoleonic FranceCoincidence of requirement and resourceRelative wealth and a series of governments that promoted free trade.
Because we're the cleverest people in the world, lol.
It is James Watt who observed as a boy the way the lid of the steaming kettle, that his mom put in the fireplace, was getting liftedWhen he knew that 'steam' can do work he set about designing a steam engineThe seed of the thought that mechanical power can replace animal power evolved, that brought speed, more power productivityOther industrial developments were extensions of this basic ideaStrangely, none else did any similar thing anywhere elseYour saying I know they invented machines and man made power is shallow ( arrogant)You are prone to miss the vital facts that would do no good for you in your future.
