Answer:

I had about three palate expanders. You will probably have to turn for at least 2-3 weeks if not a little bit longer and it will probably hurt when you turn it at night take advil right before you turn to help with the pain there. In a couple more days you will be chewing a lot better and able to eat everything you normally do...if you're looking for other foods to eat you can eat pudding...jello...mashed potatoes...macaroni and cheese...yogurt...and ice cream.
2-3 weeks i believe.
For my palate expanders, I had to turn for a month and then stopped. Yeah, it sucks, I know. The food keeps on getting stuck up there... T__T And it messes up the speech a lot, especially with all the, 'k' sounds... It took about maybe, 5 days for the speech to get better. :) Not too bad. Mmmm... Yeah, chewing can sometimes hurt after turning, because it's slowly expanding the upper jaw and all your teeth are moving around. But you'll get use to it, don't worry. Oh and usually the expanders are in for at least 6 months after the turning has stopped, so the jaw bones can fuse together and stay there. Hope that helps. Don't worry, expanders aren't too bad. But after a couple weeks of turning, a gap does start to form between the front teeth... >__<
Oh god i used to have one of those like 2 years ago i had mine for about 5 months it hurt a bit everytime i tightend it and youll get used to chewing with it you only got it yesterday so calm down after a couple days it wont hurt anymore to chew it will only hurt a little after you tighten it
