Question:

Can chilling the water in a boiler remove the oxygen?

Oxygen is removed from the boiler water by ____ the water.a. Adding minerals tob. Chillingc. Heatingd. All of the above

Answer:

c. Heating. Chilling has no effect.
You cannot remove the oxygen from water without breaking the molecular bond between oxygen and hydrogen. If you are trying to remove air from a closed boiler heating system, it is done by a bleeder valve near the TOP of the system (highest radiator). This must be done while the system is hot.
