i need metal that thin about A3 sized. Its going to be used as the skin of large model aircraft. and i don‘t fancy drinking all the beer just for the cans. I live in the UK
Me and my best budd have done almost all our own repair and all we use is sears floor jack and jack stand. The lift makes work easier but there are only few thing you cannot do without a lift. What really helps (a lot) is air tools. Me and my best budd did all out work using hand tools for decades (since college). But then he went and bought a huge compressor and impact wrench (and other air tools). Now works goes by so much easier it is not even funny (actually it is funny). Good Luck
If you happen to get hold of old washing machines you can use the metal from the sides to make you plane skin.You can use tin snips to cut the metal.At least you can do it for the wings.Four pieces for the wings.If you want to use used alimminium cans instead to keep it light.You can double the layer of tin to make it stronger.If you go to a engineering company who cuts things with lazers you can get a clear glass bottle cut down the middle longways for the glass canopy.Get the ends cut off too.I used two automatic door openers once for the undercarrage of a 1/8 scale jet fighter but it never worked.You may need something simlar but much stronger than the ones i used.
I got my thin aluminum, copper, and stainless steel for small projects from my local hobby store in California. I'm sure there will be something similar in the UK. An outstanding project BTW !! I did a similar project about 10 years ago. a 1/32 scale SH-60B with one-half stripped to the frames stringers
