Question:

Check engine light on a 2005 Honda accord?

I am at 98,500 miles i just got an oil change and got new battery terminals and a battery cable put in my car because the previous terminals and cable were corroded. A day later i am driving and the check engine light comes up. I have never had any problem with my car and have always taken it to the dealer until just this past time and look what happens. Does anyone know what could have caused the check engine light to come up? I looked under the hood and i noticed the battery cable was not clipped and was able to roam freely which tells me they did a sloppy job! Now Honda is saying they will charge me $108 to do some test that will tell them a code that will say whats wrongany idea what the could have gone wrong?

Answer:

i have a 1996 lincoln town car and i had the same problem and ifix it by replaceing the air bags they had slow leak in the bags that made the air suspensions to stay on the system is not design to run constantly
Solve all your problems, go to a junk yard and buy some rear steel springs from a crown vic or marquis to replace the airbags, you'll get the same ride and no problems with rear end falling down or fueses blowing .
What is the fuse for? the pump or some other component? usually its the pump and its probably bad but other then that you just have a short somewhere and you will need to trace it down.
Check engine light comes on for many reasons. Usually is related to the emission system. On your model with the b-can and f-can system even that loose terminal at the battery can cause the check engine light to come on. U can probably go to other places like auto zone or discount auto parts or places like that (depends were u live) call first and find out. Some of this places will scan your car free of charge and will give u the code #. With that # we can help u and guide u to the most likely suspect. just post another question with the code and we will help u out. Hope this helps, Good luck!
