I have a thin coat I have to wear to work as a waitress and it always smells funny. I can‘t describe the smell exactly, all I know is that it smells weird (stale, maybe?) and I can‘t get rid of it no matter how much I wash it. It worsens after each work day and I think it‘s a combination of food particles in the cloth and just the fabric itself. It looks homemade (no tag) and feels like a polyester/rayon type cloth. I wash it in cold water with powder detergent every night and dry it on Medium heat.Please tell me there‘s something I can do to change/get rid of the way this thing smells. Something to soak it in? A new way of washing it? Anything?
I work at Domino's and the cornmeal we use to stretch the dough makes your clothes stink. I have found Arm and Hammer Clean Burst laundry soap it has baking soda in it which deodorizes. It takes all smells out of clothes. I use bounce dryer sheets also. You could also use Fabreeze. This is the best I have found. If these don't work maybe you need a new uniform. Good luck.
Baking soda added to your wash will work well, also Vinegar I LOVE vinegar for getting rid of odors. If it were my white clothing I would soak in the washer with some added vinegar for an hour or so then wash as normal. Maybe repeat if I have time. Found this in my notes, too but have never tried this first one - Remove odors from clothes by filling the bathtub with very hot water and 1 cup white distilled vinegar. Hang the garments above the steaming water and shut the door so the steam can penetrate the fibers. Get cleaner laundry- Add about 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar to the last rinse. The acid in white distilled vinegar is too mild to harm fabrics, yet strong enough to dissolve the alkalies in soaps and detergents. Besides removing soap, white distilled vinegar prevents yellowing, acts as a fabric softener and static cling reducer, and attacks mold and mildew. Bring out bright colors by adding 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to the rinse cycle. Good Luck to You!
Add 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to the wash. Vinegar is one of the best deodorizers, and it is inexpensive. The vinegar smell dissipates as the clothes dry.
Don't look now but, this is required by many departments.
well, coppers usually dont pack any heat unless they are trained to use a gun, so they dont have a gun off duty. but they do use their warrant card as ID.
