help.i have some old speakers for the computertheyre pluged in and the volume controls are all on.my best guess is that the speakers that the computer is programmed with are another pair.so with thathow do i manage to get my dell xps 600 to work with these old speakers.
You would be better off with the pentium d 950 processor as the 900 series has 2 mb cache per core, so you would get 4 mb cache total instead of 2 mb and the price difference isnt that much, as for memory I would get 2 gb in 2 slots, 1 gb sticks
Speakers are not set with the computer, you just plug them in and bam they work. You have either one of three problems. Your audio card drivers are not installed, your audio card is dead, or most likely (since you said old speakers) those speakers are shot. Try a different pair.
