Question:

Do Radios Contain Copper?

looking for copper to make a motor around my house...where do i find copper? is there any in my old CD player/ radio? if so where? is there any in a flashlight? where?

Answer:

To get copper in your house, easy, take away the hot water copper pipe. Also electric panel inside has many breakers, fuse, switches, power bar all made of copper. More can be found from house wiring hidden inside the wall ,pull some out. Water outlet whole piece is made of copper.
Most old radios have wires of copper. Modern ones have circuit boards with components on them, few if any wires. Headphone cables. Video cables. Extension cords have copper. None in a flashlight, as a bar conducts back from the bulb holder through the switch and to the spring that touches the battery. A transformer has the perfect type of wire for motor coils. To make a motor, you want thin solid wire with a lacquer coating for insulation. That will give you lots of close windings. Most hardware stores have lots of plain copper wire. But you will have to insulate it yourself.
