Answer:

It sounds like a re-set button.
You need to get a 3rd party app. Apparently, apple thought it was smart to not give that possibility on the itouch. I can recommend is an app called app vault, it has an alarm, along with a lot other functions, and it only costs 1USD. Other ipods have that in the alarm already, as long as you have a playlist with the song. You just need to select it in the alarm settings(dont remember exactly where)
It depends on the extinguisher. It could be CO2, could be H2O, could be any of a small variety. It depends on the type of fire its designed to put out. Check out the A-B-C label.
If it is a push-button, then it is a remote reset switch that may have been added as an additional feature or as a replacement for an inoperable internal reset switch. If it is a toggle (Like a light switch) it is the emergency shut off which should be located in an easy to reach location like just inside the door way or top / bottom of stairwells leading to the furnace location. (It is very seldom that the Emergency switch would be right next to the furnace.) The third option would be a service switch for killing power while servicing the unit. (If the furnace is 240 Volts, the switch would also be known as a DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) Additional, A fusible link is a term for a link that melts at a predetermined temperature and has to be replaced as part of the repair. Since this is a button, I would be more likely to guess it was a Thermal overload with a Reset button.
