YES it will demage it. I would really recommend using an old CD case, take out all the paper and slide the info. into the front of the case, not only that you will also find that you can pull the back of some (album) cd cases apart you could also stick any info you have in there to.
Do you know what type of fire extinguisher was used. If it was just a standard ABC extinguisher, you probably can vacuum it up but use a bag vacuum and immediately put the vacuum bag into a curbside tough plastic bag which you tie and then double seal with duct tape. Take the bag to your local dump and tell them what is in it so that they will dispose of it properly. If it was a halon or exotic chemical extinguisher, ask your local fire department for advise and possibly assistance.
depends on bump, have seen a few inches to one that is raised and spread out over two feet. lower ones that can hung up on frame. fad
